Then click on this link to download the latest version of OpenCPN for reading electronic maps. When you download it, double-click on it and click "Next" until the end of the installation. Almost done.

The next and most important thing is to connect the GPS antenna to the computer. If you do not have an antenna, I recommend that you buy a USB GPS antenna and you can find them at this link.

Connect everything:

  1. Run the installed OpenCPN program.
  2. You will be asked to add a map directory if you do not click on the fork key symbol in the toolbar and go to "Charts" (see picture).

select the folder we marked with KarteDST on the "Desktop" icon (see picture)
8 7and that is that. Now follows the connection of the GPS antenna:
We also go to the wrench icon and go to "Connections".
So let's go to "add new connection"
From the drop-down menu (as in the picture above), select the first offered port, "baudrate" should be at 4800. If it offers us more ports, we must repeat this same action for each one. . If you have followed all the steps properly, you should have a fully functional nautical chart.
For those who already use OpenCPN and have a cable transponder in the ruder that can be connected to a computer, it is necessary to set the "baudrate" to 36000 or one more or more among those offered from the drop-down menu. That's how it should work. It's a short guide, I'll try to update the maps as often as possible, and if you find out that a new map has come out, call me to post it on the site.
