In the night of 12.10.2021. around 4 o'clock in the morning, the Bosut 2 dredger, owned by Luka Leget from Sremska Mitrovica, sank on 136 km of the Sava River (near Sremska Mitrovica). Fortunately, no one was injured in the sinking, as the crew was accommodated on a sailing residential boat.

The place of the accident was not properly marked, no notice was issued to the shipping company, nor were adequate measures taken to prevent the spillage of derivatives into the Sava River. This is the fifth sinking of ships on domestic rivers since the beginning of the year, and even the 17th in the past three years. Apart from attempts to cover up, the competent authorities still do not take any concrete measures to stop this infamous practice.

Ships and shipowners have been left to fend for themselves for years. We hope that there will be no tragedy with human casualties again, as during the sinking of the ship Belgrade 10, so that someone or something could be initiated regarding the safety of navigation.
